About the Event
FenceSitter Films along with writer/director (and Mendham Borough resident!) Kyle Schickner and The Mendhams Diversity Committee are taking over Backer Farm the evening of Friday, Oct 29, 2021 starting at 7:00 PM EDT for a special East Coast premier screening of his controversial and critically acclaimed documentary "A White Man Walks Into A Barbershop."
We are thrilled to host this event and a portion of the proceeds will go to the MDC to help continue our important work in the Mendhams.
The famous Backer Food Truck will be on hand, and popcorn and soda will be available for everyone.
There will be a panel discussion and Q&A immediately following the film moderated by Diversity Committee member Trishna Goswami. The panel will discuss the film and what we as a community can do to make everyone feel safe and supported.
Although the film has not been rated, there is strong language and mature subject matter pertaining to race. High schools across the country have been screening the film for juniors and seniors, the administration deeming the subject matter appropriate for students in that age range. There is no age restriction for this event but parental discretion is advised.
